This Term in RSH we have been focusing on Spring and the story ‘The Hungry Caterpillar.’
We have been busy exploring plants and flower, planting beans and cress and watching our wonderful caterpillars grow and change.
In Maths, we have been focussing on numbers from 10-20 as well as adding and subtracting.
We have also been busy using our writing skills to form sentences with a capital letter, finger spaces between our words and a full stop at the end.
This term we have been thinking about ‘What makes a superhero?’
We have been working hard to learn our new phonics sounds and have been applying these sounds to write words and captions.
In Number, we have been thinking about different representations of numbers and comparing amounts using the vocabulary less, more, fewer, the same as.
We have been weighing and measuring amounts using our balances in our mud kitchen. It was so much fun!
This term we started PE lessons. We have been able to get changed and enjoy taking parts in lessons working on moving in different ways.
This term in Spider class we have been having so much fun in Maths. In our Number sessions, we have been busy learning to count and identify numbers 1-5. We have used NUMICON lots When exploring ‘more’ and ‘fewer’ we are now really confident to explain when comparing two groups which has ‘more’ or ‘fewer’. We have begun to think about finding ‘one more’ and ‘one less’ than a total.
We have enjoyed exploring shape to make pictures and patterns and had fun in the sand filling and emptying containers.
We have been super spiders and have settled into school beautifully!
We have enjoyed making new friends, exploring the environment and having lots of fun!
We are beginning to understand and follow the routines and rules of school.
We are enjoying learning about ‘The Little Red Hen and autumn.
